Publications Working Group

• Review the Master's Proposal
• Review existing publications and their function
• Evaluate effectiveness of current publications
• Gather Member's opinions and insights on existing and a new "optimized" publications.

• A proposal for a new publication
• Prototype documents to review for evaluation and enhancements
• A draft implementation plan
• Timeline: for review by Board and Afterguard 10 days before the first meeting of 2026
• Revised Publications Budget for 2026

• Provide content found in current Mainsheet and Jibsheet
• Designed for improved electronic distribution on phones, tablets, laptops
• Provide a pdf-formatted file that can be printed by individual members as they desire
• Reduce publication costs
• Minimize effort to create and display content
• Create once - use multiple times to reduce effort and cost of publications
• Provide a marketing tool to use in new Member recruitment
• Better document the wide-ranging activities and events of TCA
• Exploit current technology to provide quality access across platforms / personal devices
• Exploit current technology for print-on-demand to reduce effort, cost while addressing Members' need for hard-copy printed item

• Key issues for first meeting.:

• What is the purpose of our publications?
• Do Jibsheet and Mainsheet currently serve this purpose?
• Is combining JibSheet and Mainsheet into one document a good idea? And what is driving this?
• Do we need one document or two?
• Is there an alternative approach, perhaps using email flyers and the web site?
• Should documents be produced monthly or quarterly? 
• How much work would this involve and who will do it? 
• Will our current Layout Editor be prepared to do this monthly?
• Decision on print copies or electronic only.
• Making documents "phone friendly".
